The indexes access the complete materials in volumes I–K: 1.) the Old French headwords and derivations with all graphic variants; 2.) all etyma which have either been accepted or simply included in the discussion; 3.) all Romance word forms cited (Italian, Spanish etc) and all cited non-Romance word forms (English, German etc.) including cognate forms and forms adopted from the French. The indexes are an indispensable tool for using the dictionary, which is ordered by word-families, as only the headwords are organised alphabetically. Thanks to the marking of the scriptae, the indexes are also suitable for dialectological studies.
