
In this thesis, we optically characterize the emission of He-ion-generated single-photon emitters in monolayer MoS₂. Autocorrelation measurements prove the single-photon emission, and a statistical analysis examines the applicability of the emitters as single-photon sources. Moreover, we determine the optical dipole orientation of the emission and study the exciton-phonon interaction through observation of the temperature dependence of the emission lineshape.
